The DFA Awards is more than an annual design event. Since its inception by Hong Kong Design Centre in 2003, it has evolved into an influential discussion platform for Asian and international designers alike. Each year, the award-winners attest to the continuing transformation of Asian design and reflect its rising influence. Policy makers across Asia have been formulating strategies over the past decade to invest in creative/cultural industries, particularly on the ‘hardware’, and the impact is palpable.
