Gong Workshop

In this three day workshop you will learn the basics of the history and myth of the gong as well as how to play the basic strokes with a key focus to develop enough confidence to play during the all night gong puja on the evening of 11th. The emphasis is on practice.

You will develop your ability to listen, to become one with the gong and to understand how to tap into the universal sound current.

The workshop is suitable for all levels from beginner who has never touched a gong but is interested to learn to those who have had some experience and wish to go the next level.

If you own a gong then please bring it with you, if not you will be playing the Red Doors house gongs. Class size is limited to ensure every student has one gong to themselves.

It is possible to come to one day only and still play in the gong puja. Emphasis will be on the bare basic strokes.

Puja-rama

A gong puja is a special event where all participants are bathed in the soothing sounds of the gongs for 8 hours of continuous play.

You may either participate as a gong player, each playing for an allotted time in rotation or you may come and simply enjoy the entire evening as a participant. In either case an entire night of continuous gong will transform you at the cellular level.

Participants in the Gong Workshop will have first priority and space for the puja is strictly limited. Therefore if you wish to attend, confirm your place by booking and paying in advance.

Things to bring:

• mats and cotton blankets provided,
• if you need anything additional, such as a special pillow please bring it for sleeping.
• A water bottle is useful,
• personal toiletries,
• a small towel
• Please wear white.
• If you have something for the altar such as photos of those that you would like to send healing to, then bring it along as well as any crystals you wish to be charged during the night.
