Spill Stories presents Spill Stories Social, the first event of a reoccurring series to celebrate creative storytelling in Hong Kong, on 7 November from 8 to 10 pm at Art Culture Outreach Bookstore in Wanchai. The event will include 3 Spill Stories book launches, spoken word performances, and a marketplace. The marketplace will feature clothing from Art Women, a fashion brand created by a collective of female asylum seekers in Hong Kong that utilizes African fabric. LIKEWISE, an online platform documenting people, art and culture, will showcase their latest videography.

The books are as follows:

Black in Asia: Diaspora stories from Black and African writers who have lived across Asia, from Hong Kong to Myanmar
Leaving & Healing: Coming of age stories where writers share about leaving people or ways of life behind in order to enable personal growth
Sex & Power: stories about sex, relationships, love, and power that will be printed for the first time (previously published as an e-book)

The book's covers feature artwork by Ellie Suh and Misato Pang.

Each ticket will a Spill Stories book. We'll have some wine / beer on hand as well for purchase. We are excited to see you as we spend the evening to celebrate the community around creative storytelling in Hong Kong!
